和梨農家を営みながら、本格的なローズガーデンを手掛けていることで知られている『佐藤梨園』。約650種類ものバラが植えられ、初夏を最盛期に秋バラの季節まで訪れる人の目を楽しませる。
　ガーデンの一角に、オルラヤの花が白いレース布を広げたように咲き誇る「ナチュラルガーデン」がある。オルラヤは可憐な姿ながら、こぼれ種からもよく増える。"自然のままに"に重きをおくイングリッシュガーデンに好適な花だ。初夏のナチュラルガーデンでは、発色の良いクレマチスがアクセントとなり、華やかさを加える。
　冬は雪景色の中、赤いローズヒップの実が揺れる姿がまた愛らしい。庭で四季を感じる、これ以上の愉しみはないと思う。
